Patient Transport Associate, Yale-New Haven Hospital, New Haven, CT
Originally from Italy, Domenico uses the power of song to sooth patients.
For Domenico, making patients feel comfortable is just as important as taking them wherever they need to go in the hospital.
Originally from Italy, Domenico uses the power of song to soothe patients who seem upset or afraid. “Many of our patients have a sad face,” Domenico says. “They are sick and they don’t want to be here as a patient. If I see that, I may sing to them...If they know Italian, they often say, ‘Oh, my mother sang me that song.’”
Domenico’s personal touch is just one more example of what it means to go beyond the call of duty. Thank you, Domenico!
